Instaling & Using Tortoise SVN

Post by Xifex on Thu Aug 06, 2009 8:53 am

    What is Tortoise SVN?
Tortoise SVN is a download client that we use to keep our server and client files up to date with the latest revision.

How do I install Tortoise SVN?
go to http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads and download the 32 bit version unless your using a 64 bit Operating System which you would then download the 64 bit version.
Run the installer application, let it finish and if prompted, restart your computer.

    Don't know if your 32bit or 64?
Go to your system properties(right click My Computer and click properties) another way to do it is by hitting the Windows key and Pause/Break key at the same time. Once in system properties please read and you will see weather your system type is 32 or 64 bit.

How do I use Tortoise SVN?
Go to garrysmod/garrysmod/addons folder and create a folder for your addon then name it to the name of what the addon is ie... halo addon folder just name it halo then right click on the folder go to SVN checkout then copy the SVN url into the first text box and then in the 2nd text box below it make sure the file path is corrent and then click ok.
