Problem

We are glad you’re interested in donating, the reason why we need donations is because our GMOD server is currently being hosted on the machine with the Windows Home Server operating system. Windows home server limits your C: drive capacity to 20 GB, this is an issue due to the fact that most servers require over 20 GB of space to run using multiple add-ons, the home server has over 1 TB of storage space on the D: drive, however the D: drive is made up of multiples hard drives running as a RAID ARRAY. The machine is using a RAID format called JBOD which stands for just a bunch of disks, the windows home server software balances all the data in between all these hard drives and spreads it out evenly therefore it takes it a lot longer to find the required files to run the server due to the fact that it has to search for them throughout several hard drives.

Solution

So to solve this problem we have decided to build a new computer whose only purpose is to run GMOD servers. This will allow us to expand our variety of game modes as well as have a more stable, responsive, faster,and overall better server. Our price goal is $300, which will allow us to afford one kick ass computer. It’ll have a 500 GB hard drive with 32 MB of cache, a quad core Intel CPU, 2 GB of memory and a very stable mother board. How can we afford this for $300 you might ask. Well I’m a computer technician and I am able to get discounted prices on stuff like this. Once we meet our mark, within two business days I will have all the parts and the computer will be built, I will also take pictures and show all of you the progress.
